In July 2021, the MSO and friends encouraged Melbourne audiences to give their Performance of a Lifetime, to get vaccinated, so performers could get back to what they do best.

Taking inspiration from this viral video campaign, in December 2021 the MSO were joined by an all-star line-up of singers and performers from across Melbourne’s live entertainment industry to celebrate the return of live performance. The iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl stage featured guests including Dannii Minogue, Kate Ceberano, Tim Rogers, Felix Riebl, Emma Donovan, Mo’Ju, Lior, Meow Meow, Rhonda Burchmore, Paul Grabowsky and Ali McGrgeor, as well as artists from The Australian Ballet, Disney’s Frozen The Musical, Moulin Rouge! The Musical!, Harry Potter & the Cursed Child and Opera Australia’s upcoming production of The Phantom of the Opera.
