With the song Rise Like a Phoenix, Conchita Wurst took the world by storm with her victory in the 2014 Eurovision song-contest. For the first time in Sydney, Conchita joined the Sydney Symphony Orchestra under the Sails of the Sydney Opera House with special guests Courtney Act, Trevor Ashley, Paul Capsis and Guy Sebastian.

Conchita was presented in association with the Austrian National Tourist Office and was an official event of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival.

The concert was filmed for international broadcast.
